Fun Facts
Music and math are my two greatest passions. Although, I hated taking piano lessons at first, my undergraduate studies were focused around piano. One of the more unique things about me is that I also have played the harp since high school.
About Me
I graduated from Southwestern University in 2016 with a BA in Music and a minor in Mathematics. I have been taking a break before I pursue graduate school. I hope to study piano pedagogy for a master's degree and eventually a DMA.
Experience
Throughout my undergraduate career, I tutored as apart time job. I was a tutor for Southwestern University for Cal 1, Cal 2, and science/texas/arlington">Computer Science, and I also tutored multiple high school math students independently . As a music major, I had the opportunity to take pedagogy classes and teach piano lessons.
Approach
My main goal when tutoring is not just to teach and reinforce concepts the students might have learned in class. Instead, I am to equip the student with the ability to recognize patterns and establish a way to work through problems when they are stuck rather than just giving up when the answer isn't obvious. Through my experience and education in both math and music, the ability to recognize patterns and work through a procedure as a habit allows the student to work through complex problems.
