Fun Facts
I was born and raised in Indonesia until I was 11. All of my extended family live overseas. Outside of teaching, I love doing arts and crafts. I'm currently working on a mosaic and finishing up a headboard project from scratch. I love shopping, traveling, and also dancing when I can. If I were only allowed three things to eat every day for the rest of my life, I would choose fried chicken, chicken alfredo, and fried rice. I survived college without ever drinking coffee.
About Me
I graduated from SAGU with a 3.61 GPA with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I held a leadership role in Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for educators and was also a member of Psi Chi. I was awarded several scholarships while I was in school and have been placed on the Dean's and President's List. My goal in life is to love what I do, reaching one student at a time, helping them find the joy in learning, and to always cherish every moment and season I'm in.
Experience
In fifth grade, I was placed in BETA club by my teacher to help younger students with math. In high school, I was asked by my Honors Algebra II teacher to tutor Algebra I students. I also spent a semester in college working with 4th grade math students twice a week. I've attended seminars, studied the curriculum, and looked into math STAAR Qs to help 3rd graders. When I student taught 4th grade, I broke down the basics of writing and taught my students to take apart their essays before building.
Approach
I realized after years of tutoring that in order to be successful in higher grades, there needs to be an understanding in the underlying concepts, which is why I'm so passionate about teaching elementary school students. Not all teachers can give students one-on-one attention, which makes tutoring even more of a need. Every student has potential, but sometimes, it takes an extra person to help them achieve that. I hope to be that person for my students and give them the help that they need.

Writing Tutoring
I student taught 4th grade ELAR and social studies, with a focus in STAAR writing. I took previous STAAR topics, along with some of my own to give students platform to write. Students went through a scaffolding process, where we tackled one paragraph into detail, built the basic skeleton of their writing, and helping them not only to revise but also making their writing come to life using their senses.
