Fun Facts
I have traveled to every continent of the world (save for Antarctica) and I have a large collection of hobbies. I enjoy leathercraft, blacksmithing, silversmithing, woodworking, game design and programming, and archery. I have made an effort to read every major piece of classical literature and strive to have experience in, or a working knowledge of, almost every practical subject (automobile repair and dancing continue to elude me).
About Me
I am a senior science/nebraska/omaha">Computer Science major at the University of Nebraska Omaha. I am consistently on the Dean's list and work as a Teaching Assistant for a few hours each week for science/nebraska/omaha">computer science related topics like Data Structures and Discrete Mathematics. I also have extensive experience with Biology undergrad course topics and real world experience implementing medical practices. After graduating this fall, I intend to stay in the area (Omaha) and work as a programmer.
Experience
In '07, I was a Biology major before spending time in the service where I was a primary trauma care giver as well as a teacher to foreign nationals. After leaving the service in '15, I began my undergraduate degree in science/nebraska/omaha">Computer Science and have worked as a Teaching Assistant for several years. I have received a 'classical' education and can work with students in additional fields unrelated to my majors, such as literature, philosophy, and reading/writing.
Approach
Barring any specific goal or focus by a client, I would initially give the student a short examination covering the chosen topics to gauge their grasp of the material and then create a curriculum specifically for them. Teaching philosophy or classic literature requires a very different approach compared to Comp Sci and Math and my work to adapt a plan for the student would reflect that.
