Fun Facts

I am a huge fan of reading, and I'm currently reading Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. I also love listening to music, and I am planning to go to Coachella in April to see some of my favorite bands this year. I am also into sports, and I'm on the Cal Boxing team.

About Me

UC Berkeley
Major: Economics and Physics
4th year
After college I plan to work in renewable energy, and eventually I would like to start my own company in that industry.

I have benefited from the experience of several albuquerque">tutors during my academic career. I understand what it’s like to not understand a concept immediately, and I want to help students who are feeling that same frustration. I took a class titled “albuquerque">Tutor Training” several years ago at a community college in order to learn the most effective approaches in helping students understand difficult concepts. After completion of the course I became a certified albuquerque">tutor on campus, and mainly tutored in mathematics. I have also tutored Japanese privately due to my background and my experience studying abroad in Japan for one year during high school.

My albuquerque">tutoring approach is largely based on methods I have learned from class and from effective albuquerque">tutors who have helped me. One of the main points I learned is that albuquerque">tutoring is not the same as teaching. I believe the main goal of a albuquerque">tutor is to help the student become independent in their studies. I accomplish this by encouraging the student to solve problems on their own by asking them questions. When a student figures out problems on their own, they gain the confidence and motivation to keep going, and this is a very gratifying experience for me as a albuquerque">tutor.
