Fun Facts

I like to solve math problems, weight lift, and travel. I've been to New Zealand (for study abroad and leisure) and the Cook Islands; I truly enjoyed my time there and hope that is where I will end up when I retire. I am also interested in health and nutrition, astronomy, and archaeology.

About Me

I recently graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science in science/california/thousand-oaks">Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. I want to share my knowledge with others and have found that tutoring is an effective way to achieve that.

Experience

For three years, I worked as a teaching assistant for two college math courses: calculus and differential equations. I also have recent experience doing one-on-one tutoring with high school and college students who needed help in calculus. I provided help and guidance with homework assignments, review of returned exams, clarification of in-class lessons, and exam preparation. As for elementary to math-middle-school/california/thousand-oaks">middle school math, I have had personal experience tutoring my younger siblings.

Approach

I am patient and understanding of students. I realize that different students learn at different paces and in different ways. For that reason, I am open minded about the ways I teach. Some students understand concepts, others find applications to be more helpful; my job is to tailor my teaching method to the student's learning style to optimize the student's comprehension. My ultimate goal is to help students succeed.
