Fun Facts
I love to play sports and was a varsity athlete in college. I have three siblings who are my favorite humans in the world. I have always lived in Colorado, and hope to stay here. I don't know what I would do without the mountains!
About Me
I have a degree from Colorado School of Mines in chemistry. I am currently working at Anschutz Medical Campus as a professional research assistant in the department of surgery. I plan to pursue a PhD in about two years but wanted to get some work experience first.
Experience
I started tutoring in middle school where I was paired with a younger student and helped them in areas they were struggling. I continued tutoring during high school through several organizations - namely NHS and Mu Alpha Theta (math honors society). During college I was a teachers assistant and taught in the classroom three times a week and held office hours once a week for additional aid to students.
Approach
I have had a lot of teachers with a lot of different teaching styles. I am still figuring out my style, but I like to start with the big picture and slowly narrow in. It helps to keep the scope of things clear to the student. Mines has given me a lot of great study skills and I hope to be able to pass those along to the students I help.
