Fun Facts

I frequently witness shock on people's faces when they find out that I have lived in Colorado all my life but have never been skiing or snowboarding. I also have never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies and maybe have seen a few of the Star Wars movies once. I apparently am an odd-ball because of these things. Listening to music is my all-time favorite activity. I need it in the car, when I'm somewhere quiet and I love singing along no matter where I am (including the shower). I wish we lived our lives in a musical.

About Me

I am currently a senior at the denver">University of Denver with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry, Psychology and Medical Physics. I have also studied French extensively but did not minor. I hope to go to medical school next year (if I can get in) where I hope to pursue a career in Pediatrics or Neonatology.

I have tutored all age groups: middle and high school students in the AVID program through Denver Public Schools. I also volunteer as a denver">tutor for the Children's Literacy Center where I have tutored students between the grades of 1st and 6th. Through these two activities, I have over 4 years of one-on-one denver">tutoring experience and about 3 years of group discussion with Socratic seminar questioning.

As a denver">tutor, patience is the number one quality to have. It's important to understand that the subject is more difficult for the student than the denver">tutor. Understanding this allows the denver">tutor to be more patient but also more open to finding new and creative ways to help the student learn the material.
