Fun Facts
I have recently started running and going regularly to the gym. I have always been a big adventurer - I snowboard, rock climb, hike 14,000 (+) mountains. I enjoy traveling especially to Spanish speaking countries so I can practice my Spanish speaking skills and I enjoy Hispanic culture.
About Me
I have taught English and reading in Higher Education for seven years. I have a Masters Degree in Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I My professional goal is to offer professional development trainings for faculty and staff in Higher Education. Another goal is to consider myself fluent in Spanish. I have studied Spanish for ten years, but I'd not consider myself 100% fluent yet.
Experience
I have lead eight two day trainings for faculty and staff in video production in Higher Education. I have taught College Composition and Reading in Higher Education since 2014. I have taught study skills for two years in Higher Education.
. I student taught k-6 in order to receive my teaching license.II substitute teach in the Denver Public School District.
Approach
The key to successful tutoring is for the student to learn skills and content from the tutor, so the student will be capable of completing the skills successfully. I use the Socratic Method which basically means I ask questions. I relate content to the student's life experiences.

I have used Microsoft Word to create ADA complaint documents to be published online for an institution of Higher Education. I have taught use of Word to college students for the seven years I have taught English and reading at the Community College level.
