Biology I Tutoring

I am almost finished with BIO-105 which is a college level Biology class that I have to take for my major requirement. I have a A in the class so far and I understand the concepts well.

I took AP European History, AP US History, Geography, and AP Government in high school. I got good scores on my AP exams and I passed all these classes with good scores as well. I taught geography and european history to lower class men when I was an upperclassmen in high school. I helped them for the AP exam as well as for the finals in their respective classes.

Psychology Tutoring

I took AP Psychology my junior year and I tutored four kids in psychology my senior year. I got a 4 on my AP Exam and got an A in the class. I find psychology to be one of the most interesting subjects to teach.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I teach reading comprehension based on the literature class the student is in. I got a 760 on my SAT Reading comprehension. I love to read and analyze readings. I learned annotations, and analysis in AP Language and AP Literature so I am well versed with all reading comprehension skills.

SAT Math Tutoring

I am able to teach geometry, algebra, and calculus as they correspond with the SAT. I am well versed with the SAT and scored well on the math section. I have also taken and passed the Math 2 SAT Subject test.

SAT Verbal/Writing Tutoring

I am able to teach the grammar rules, and writing comprehension that is presented in the SAT test. I am well versed with the old and new versions of the SAT, and scored fairly high (780) in the writing category.

Through high school, I had to learn how to balance SAT, studies, AP exams, and classes along with extracurriculars. Because of this I had to learn effective study skills such as time management and more to make sure that I did well in high school. I usually incorporate study skills into my tutoring sessions with kids to help them progress.

Homework Coach Tutoring

There were many parents who wanted me to teach their children based on the homework they received. I would go over problems that they had in their homework and give them similar problems to the ones in their homework for additional practice.

Elementary Math Tutoring

I have taught elementary school math to children from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade. I know what topics to cover and I usually base the lesson plans on what the children are learning in class. I start by teaching the basics of numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and work my way up to more advanced topics.

I taught a couple of children social studies when they were in elementary school but not many. I taught them out of the workbooks they used, and followed their teacher's lesson plans. I mostly just helped them on their homework for social studies.

PSAT Tutoring

I took the PSAT my junior year, and know the material inside and out. I am able to teach the various subjects that appear on the PSAT and have taught many of the juniors in my high school skills to help them take the PSAT.

I have been learning piano since I was 6-7 years old. I learned from authentic traditional Russian teachers as well as more contemporary teachers. I have been playing at the national and international music guild level for a couple of years. I know how to read music, and playing the piano is a skill I have developed over time.

Adobe InDesign Tutoring

I learned how to use InDesign in the advanced computer graphic arts class that I took my senior year of high school. I enjoyed the class so much that I downloading InDesign on my own computer and thoroughly researched every aspect of it.

Adobe Lightroom Tutoring

I learned how to use Lightroom in my computers graphic design class since we used it to make many projects. I have Lightroom along with many other computer graphic design programs on my laptop and know how to use each one pretty well.

Adobe Photoshop Tutoring

Photoshop is also a skill we had to master for my computer graphic arts class. My father also takes professional photos as a hobby and taught me everything there is to know about using photoshop. I also have photoshop downloaded as well as the many projects I created on file.

Microsoft Excel Tutoring

I took a computer course over the summer where they taught all the basics of Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. I know how to use these programs extremely well because they are always used in my college classes (used them without a problem throughout high school).

I am a bilingual person, and hindi is my second language so I am nearly fluent in it. I have learned hindi growing up with my family and speak it on a regular basis.
