Fun Facts
One fun fact about me is that I love tennis! I have been playing for over 18 years and have traveled all over the country to compete in tournaments. I played on the NCAA Division III National Championship winning Amherst College Men's Tennis team before transferring to Ohio State, where I play on the top Club Tennis team.
About Me
I am a second-semester junior at The Ohio State University scheduled to graduate in December 2016, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. In the mathematics major, my specialization is theoretical mathematics. I hope to pursue my Ph.D. and become a Professor of Mathematics, or work in research or as an actuary in the private sector.
Experience
I worked as a Camp Counselor in New Hampshire for one summer in 2012, and I have taught tennis to kids of all ages since high school. I also tutored underprivileged high school students in a program called ABC (A Better Chance) while I was a student at Amherst College for two years.
Approach
My approach to tutoring is simple: Give the students plenty of encouragement and help them discover and figure out the answer on their own. Often times, a student just needs positive reinforcement and different ideas for how to approach a problem, which I will provide by helping the student think about the problem in a new way.
